Koganei Park was packed (and dusty.) The "self-restraint" preached by Tokyo politicians seems to have affected only corporate hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties; families and private gatherings were out in force.

From what I've read of Tokyo's governor, Ishihara, he comes off to me as a senile jerk. Instead of giving people a breath after such hardships, he acts like he's their strict father or something.

So jealous. We DO have a bunch of sakura here, but nobody does hanami.
