Friend and toy freak Erik Sjoen tipped me off about this amazing Japanese-language blog full of custom Chogokin you always wanted but never actually existed. Scroll down to the second big chunk of text (labeled 改造合金) for links to crazy stuff like Getta Robo G's Texas Mac, obscure tokusatsu hero Big One, The Kagestar's Bellstar, the nude lower torso of Sukekiyo from Kon Ichikawa's 1976 film Inugamike no Ichizoku (okay, perhaps you never did want that one), Densenman, the complete casts of the shows Guyslugger and Rainbowman, Star Wars' K-3P0...
Those ARE awesome, but what's the secret?
Is he taking junk gokin and modding the living daylights out of the parts, or are they totally from scratch?

He doesn't say, but I'm pretty sure he's using junk parts. They're too solid to be full customs.

"I demand a march on the Diet Building."
Would that help with your "metabolic syndrome"?

Y'know...between demanding a march on the Diet, and demanding I buy kaiju anatomy books, you're getting a little pushy.

I demand you stop calling me pushy.

I can pretty much identify 75% of the pieces he's using. I just realized that the texas mac's head is a takemi boss palder.. This shit fucking rocks!!

Uh, I own one of those Guyslugger toys, the red dude. Either it was a regular production toy or I'm living in a freaked-out world beyond all computation. Or both.

The big blue guy in the back (Onoriki) and the red guy (Guyslugger) and blue guy (Mitokaya) were made, but the yellow and green guys weren't. Those are customs.

I didn't know you were a toy geek, too, Cap'n Dave!

I kinda figured it was a mix of official product and homebrew kitbashing. Then again, why make Guyslugger toys, but only make 3 of the team? Come on, it's Glacier Soldier Guyslugger, one of THE MOST IMPORTANT footnotes to ever get barely mentioned in any comprehensive look at Shotaro Ishinomori's career! Thank goodness somebody's taking up the slack.
Hillsy, I don't have a lot of toys or a lot of disposable income to buy them with, but when I see something awesome and within my price range, I pick it up. Usually I just look at the things on the internet and drool.

Guyslugger also has a most awesome opening theme sung by the mighty and powerful Ichiro Mizuki.
There's no screwing around in this song, it tells you the name of the show, it tells you the entire premise, and then beats you over the head with it until you're helpless.
Dave, your point about why only do three of the chara is exactly why this guy is making the stuff. There was no Riderman bike either (not that Riderman is like a real hero compared to Kamen Rider V3) and clearly there should have been.
I'd like to see some of the bad guys from Changeman rendered as gokin...

I still can't get over that Densenman. A diecast would have been sweet.
